Michael Tayo is an Assistant Vice President and Principal Information Security Engineer at U.S. Bank. In his role, Michael is responsible for leading the engineering and support of Cloud Infrastructure Vulnerability Management and Application Security Engineering programs, ensuring a high standard for organizational security posture, reducing attack surface, continuous scanning, and baseline configuration alignment with relevant industry benchmarks.
Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Mr. Tayo served as Cloud Security Engineer at Tempus Labs, Inc. with responsibilities for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of cloud environments. Previously, he was a Security Operations Center Lead where he led national security operations and services. Prior to Tempus, he was with Sirius Computing Solutions (acquired by CDW), where he was an Security Analyst Consultant for the Data Center and Application Migration Division.
With over 8 years of experience as an Information Security Professional, Michael specializes in designing and deploying cutting-edge security solutions to enhance cloud security posture, prevent cyber-attacks, and mitigate risks to help organizations remain secure throughout the digital transformation. He is a security evangelist/author with numerous featured publications and his most recent feature published in Anomali’s Seven Cybersecurity Experts on Cyber Fusion: Collaborative Security to Defend the Modern Threat Landscape.
He is currently a Master’s of Science in Information Security and Assurance candidate at Strayer University. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University with a double major in Information Technology Systems and Marketing. He also maintains numerous certifications including Microsoft Certified Security Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer, and is working on his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
