Professor Klaus McDonald-Maier, Co-founder and CEO of Metrarc is also Head of the Embedded and Intelligent Systems Laboratory at the University of Essex. He leads the research and development group responsible for the hardware underlying Metrarc’s technology. He has authored over 200 papers and holds 15 patents granted and pending worldwide. He has received more than £30 million funding for his research work from EU, EPSRC, industry & Proof-of-Concept awards. He has previously held senior technical roles at Infineon Technologies, and is co-founder, Chief Scientist of UltraSoC, a developer of novel IP for the semiconductor industry, where he shaped early technology development and commercialisation, helping to raise over $20 million in VC funds and grew the team to 25+ staff with a series of product licenses to semiconductor vendors.
